These and other important data were the result of a study conducted by the Research Institute of Clinical and Economic Expertise and Pharmaceutical Economics of the Russian National Research Medical University named after Pirogov.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most commonly diagnosed oncological diseases in the male population of Russia. Over the past ten years, there has been an increase in the incidence and mortality rates from this disease. So, prostate cancer ranks third (11% of the total) in the structure of the primary incidence of malignant neoplasms. In the period from 2000 to 2010. a high rate of increase in the incidence of prostate cancer was noted – an average of 9.83% per year.
