How and why should we check the water we drink and wash?

Autumn is the time for the traditional end of the summer season. And at the same time, digging wells. Until it rains. Of course, with advanced technology now any season will do. But what is still missing is the understanding that water needs analysis. We either forget about it, or just greed. Meanwhile, it’s time to think: what are we drinking?

And not only when we take water from an unverified well or well. But even when we use tap water for drinking, or we buy purified water. It is important for everyone to know that the body needs to receive clean water that is harmless in chemical composition and meets sanitary standards. In fact, any water can be a source of potential danger, and before drinking it, you need to be sure of its quality, especially if it comes from unverified sources.

What does water contain?
Water, of course, must contain salts, micro and macro elements that not only do not harm, but are also necessary for our body. Due to its composition and properties of water, our body successfully copes with its work, regulates the work of internal organs, slows down the aging process and destruction.

Today, despite the objectively good quality of city water, the presence of pathogenic viruses, bacteria and toxic compounds hazardous to human health cannot be completely ruled out. According to WHO experts, water is the main source in 80% of cases of infection.

Different regions of the country have their own characteristics of water pollution. Somewhere, there may be a high probability of contamination by industrial costs, somewhere – by organic compounds from nearby farms.

We carry out the initial analysis of water ourselves
We ourselves can conduct an initial analysis of the quality of water: to assess its turbidity, sediment, smell, taste. Such an examination, of course, is far from a full-fledged laboratory diagnosis, but still also necessary.

Assess water quality in independent laboratories
According to the results of independent laboratories that conduct an assessment of the composition of water, as a rule, the main indicators are evaluated.

Elevated levels of iron can be in the water due to geochemical features in the soil, as well as due to corrosion of water pipelines. Such water is unsuitable for drinking, as it is unpleasant in taste and causes irritation of the mucous membranes and allergies.

Mineralization of water – a high content of minerals. Poorly soluble salts, calcium carbonate, and iron salts may be present in water. They can be natural salts that enter the water through layers of limestone. They precipitate and because of this the water is considered to be hard, the same white scale appears, from which it is necessary to clean dishes periodically.

Sometimes in production processes, calcium and magnesium compounds are used, which can also get into water. These compounds are dangerous …

The danger is oil products that may be present in the water if there are gas stations, oil refineries near the source, or if the well stands, for example, along the side of the road. These impurities in water have a toxic effect on the body and affect the cardiovascular and nervous systems of the body.

The presence of ammonia in the water indicates that there is domestic and household wastewater near the source.

Nitrates can enter water from fields that are abundantly processed by them, and such nitrite compounds are present in water if there are harmful bacteria in it. Nitrites are the waste products of these bacteria.

All that we have listed, as a rule, is not in purified tap water. The danger can be expected for those who have drilled a well in the area and do not know the quality of the water, or who use water from an unverified source – for example, a well. Since water is the element that is vital for any organism, it is recommended to always conduct a comprehensive examination to be calm for your health. If it seems to you that water analysis is an expensive pleasure for you, then you can require the leadership of the garden community to conduct this same analysis. But then you will drink water (or not) with calm conscience …
